As you may
remember, our Very Young Postcrossers created and wrote a lovely postcard representing the Galician Toy Museum. They were very curious to know how our
Russian friend, Kate, would get their postcard; this is why teachers Eva, Patricia, Isabel and Chus decided to go with them to
the place that makes this journey possible: the post office!!

4 year-old
students already knew that the first stop in every postcard’s journey is the
postbox…but what happens next?
Ourense’s post
office is very close to our school; in less than 10 minutes our postcrossers were there!
As soon as they arrived, Leonor was at the main entrance, waiting for them!
She explained to our postcrossers that the first thing to do at the post office is to take a number at the
ticket dispenser to be assisted by officers. We can either send or receive
letters and parcels, buy stamps and even stationery.
Our Very Young Postcrossers bought a stamp
for Kate’s postcard; Pedro showed them many different stamps, it was a difficult
choice!
Once the stamp was
bought, they all went to the post office main entrance and popped the postcard
into a lion-shaped postbox. It was so exciting!!
But this was not
the end of our visit, Leonor and Pedro took them on a guided tour to discover the
secrets of this institution.
Thank you so much for your kindness!! It was an unforgettable experience!
