Welcome to "From Ourense to the World", an online project developed at Padre Feijoo Zorelle School in Ourense, (Galicia, Spain)
As its name indicates, this project aims at letting the world discover our hometown and its surroundings while we get a taste of different places, cultures and communities. It sounds miraculous, doesn't it? How is this possible?
Well, it's very easy! We have simply joined POSTCROSSING, a website that allows its members to send and receive postcards to and from a random person somewhere in the world. Where the postcards come from is always a surprise!
Here's our Postcrossing profile:
As you can see, this blog is divided into various sections:
- TRAVELLING POSTCARDS: Every postcard we receive and send will be scanned and published here. Students and teachers will take turns to select and write a postcard.
- TRAVELLING NOTEBOOKS: Together with postcards, we also write and send notebooks. If you want to know more about our travelling notebooks, visit this section!
- ABOUT US: Would you like to know more about who we are? Click this section!
- INTERACTIVE MAP: Click here to track the location of our postcards!
- WHY POSTCROSSING: Here you will find convincing reasons to join Postcrossing! What are you waiting for??
- OUR WALL OF POSTCARDS: Contemplate our wall of postcards! It is located in the school's main hall. Nice, isn't it?
- EXPLORING PLACES: This blog is not just about sending and receiving postcards; it is especially about exploring the world. In this section, you will find an overview of senders' hometowns.
- DISCOVER OURENSE: Would you like to know more about Ourense? If so, this is your section!!
- POSTCROSSING TUTORIAL: Watch the video in this section to know how to make the most of the website!
- SELF-MADE POSTCARDS: Here you will find postcards created by students.
- LITERARY CARDS: Once every two weeks, students will send postcards with a literary twist in an attempt to participate in our school's Third Book Festival.
- R. CACHALDORA'S CARDS: We've fallen in love with postcards that depict illustrations of various spots in Ourense by local artist Rafael Cachaldora!
- PODCASTS: Visit this section and listen to the podcasts recorded by our students.
- VERY YOUNG POSTCROSSERS: See how the youngest students contribute to this project!
- AT THE POST OFFICE: Ourense's post office has very kindly organised a guided tour to discover the secrets of the institution.
- OUR SCHOOL CHOIR: Wanna know how the choir has taken part in the project? If so, you must visit this section!
- PRESS RELEASES: This project is in the limelight! Find out more in this section!
