Ciencia Activa students have sent a postcard to Kirov, Russia, featuring one of the most beautiful temples in the province of Ourense.
The temple of the Holy Cross is an impressive church in Carballiño, a town 30 kilometres from Ourense. Its construction was commissioned in 1942 and was the work of the architect Antonio Palacios.

Veracruz Church is
a splendid example of contemporary architecture. A harmonious blend of the
Byzantine, pre-Romanesque, Romanesque and Gothic styles can be appreciated in
the building's design. Other points of interest are the hill-fort remains of
San Cibrán de Las, the Galician country house of the Quiroga family and Santa
Baia de Banga, a Romanesque gem which houses beautiful multi-coloured mural
paintings (16th century).
