WHERE IS IZMIR?

İzmir is a city in the western extremity of Anatolia, in Turkey. It has a population of 2,847,691, which makes it the third most populous city in the country, after Istanbul and Ankara.

Izmir Clock Tower

Izmir clock tower
One of the most emblematic elements of İzmir's harbor is the Clock Tower, a beautiful marble tower standing 25 m. It was designed by French architect Raymond Charles Père in 1901 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the ascension of Abdülhamid II to the Ottoman throne in 1876.

Izmir Asansör

Asansor
The Asansör is one of Izmir’s best-known landmarks. Built in 1907 as a work of public service, it enables people and goods to pass from the narrow coastline of Karataş to the hillside.

 Kemeraltı Market is İzmir’s heart and soul, and a great place to find bargains, especially in leather goods, clothing and jewellery.

LIFESTYLE

Izmir is a very dynamic city! Every year it organises an annual international fair and a cultural festival. 

Izmir Kültürpark
The Izmir International Fair is the oldest tradeshow in Turkey and is notable for hosting a series of simultaneous festival activities. The fair and the festival are held in the compound of İzmir's city park named Kültürpark in the first days of September.
